Shield height recognition system
The shield height recognition system is designed to measure the individual shield heights and thus also the face line.
Depending on the shield type, 3 to 4 shield inclination sensors are attached at the measuring points specified on caving shield, shield canopy and base skid. The actual angles determined by the shield inclination sensors are transmitted to the evaluation unit.
There, the angles plus the geometric data of the shield are used to calculate the shield height. The latter is then passed on via the shield control unit to the master control unit for processing.

The parameterization unit is designed for measuring the real angles of the shield components. The unit consists of an operating and a sensor unit. The sensor unit determines the actual values of the components. The data measured are transmitted to the shield control unit in the form of a parameterization signal. The data are evaluated in the evaluation unit.
A comparison of data received from a radio-remote inclination control for the conveyor, if fitted, with actual data would also be made via the parameterization unit.

The evaluation unit can also be equipped with a radio module as an additional option.
